Free Health Screening Camp

Urlabari, Nepal- May 12, 2018

Pulmonary Hypertension Association Nepal (PHAN) organized a Free Health Screening Camp in Urlabari, Nepal. The event was conducted to examine and diagnose heart/ lung conditioned patients. Prior to the camp, information about the imminent health camp was shared by local media: radio, television and bull-horn miking. More than 300 potential patients participated for the screening. The screening included free X-Ray and EKG for all heart/ lungs patients, and available medicines were distributed to them for free.

The event was inaugurated by Mayor of Urlabari Mr. Khadga Phago. Cardiologists Dr. Shankar Prasad Adhikari gave a short speech on Pulmonary Hypertension, its symptioms and causes, and on things that could be done and not done by PH patients. President of PHA Nepal, Ms. Samjhana Khanal Gadtaula gave a vote of thanks before dismissing the gathering. Supported by the Lion’s Club of Pathari and the local public, the event was conducted at Mangalbare hospital, and was attended by several distinguished guests from the region.
