Pulmonary Hypertension Association Nepal (PHA Nepal), in collaboration with District Hospital Tehrathum and Myanglung Municipality, successfully conducted a two-day Cardiac Health Screening & Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Camp on February 23-24, 2025.
The program focused on early detection and awareness, providing free cardiac screenings to 900 students. Among them, 37 suspected cases were identified for further evaluation. An orientation session for healthcare professionals was conducted by Asst. Prof. Dr. Madhavi Pant, Dr. Anam Pyakurel, and Dr. George Jung Katwal from PHA Nepal, with the event chaired by Mayor Sanjay Kumar Tumwahanfe.
The screenings were held at Singhabahini Secondary School and Shree Saraswati Secondary School, Myanglung-10, Tamphula, with the support of a dedicated medical team and volunteers.
Phase II: Follow-Up & Further Evaluation
As we move into Phase II of the Cardiac Health Screening & Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Camp in Tehrathum, we will conduct a comprehensive follow-up assessment of the 37 suspected cases. This phase aims to determine the necessity of additional diagnostic tests, confirm diagnoses, and rule out any false-positive cases. By ensuring accurate evaluations, we strive to provide timely and appropriate medical interventions for those in need.
